Turn The Chore of Planning Your Next Family Vacation Into An Amazing Experience (Part 1)

Now that we have started 2021 and with the vaccine injections underway, many families may begin to think about planning trips for the summer, especially since many may have had to cancel plans last year due to the pandemic.
Planning for a family trip can be a daunting task, especially for families with young children, and many parents avoid family vacations altogether because of this. However, being adequately prepared and knowing what you are getting yourself into could be the difference between a great trip and a complete disaster.
There is nothing like over information when planning a family trip. You never know what information might be necessary during your vacation. In this two-part blog series, we have created a list that should help you navigate the challenge that is a family trip.

Book Well in Advance
Whether you are traveling with adults or with children, it is always good practice to book in advance. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get cheaper rates and also your choice of seating on a plane or train and your choice of rooms in a hotel.
Start Your Trip Early
It is never a good idea to rush to the airport with children. Checking in at the airport alone will take a huge amount of time, and you are likely to miss your flight if you start your trip late. It is advised that you leave at least an hour for emergencies.
Children do not like being rushed and planning early means that you are less likely to forget important items at home. The last thing you need is a forgotten passport just as you are getting into the airport!
Leave plenty of room for an adjustment just in case of situations such as this.

Travel Late Morning or Early Afternoon
Avoid traveling early in the morning or late at night. Traveling between 11 am and 4 pm means that you won’t have to beat the rush hour traffic and you won’t have to wake your children up very early in the morning.
According to ticketing experts, flights are also cheaper around this time, and airports are generally less busy.
